At Carewell Matriculation School, discipline, responsibility, and cooperation form the foundation of a productive learning environment. The following rules are to be observed by all students, parents, and guardians to ensure smooth and effective functioning of the school.

General Conduct and Discipline
  • School Diary – The school diary serves as a vital link between the school and home. Students must bring it to school daily, and parents are requested to check and sign it regularly.
  • Punctuality – Students must arrive at school at least 10 minutes before the first bell. Latecomers must bring a written note of explanation signed by a parent or guardian.
  • Uniform and Appearance – The prescribed school uniform must be worn on all school days. Students not in full uniform will not be permitted into class. Cleanliness and personal hygiene are expected at all times.
  • Leave of Absence – Leave will be granted only on a written application from the parent or guardian, stating valid reasons. For extended absences due to illness, a medical certificate must be submitted upon return.
  • Leave Authorization
    • Leave for up to 3 days may be addressed to the Class Teacher.
    • Leave for more than 3 days must be addressed to the Principal.
  • Unauthorized Absence – Students absent without submitting a leave application will incur a fine of ₹1 per day.
  • Prolonged Absence – Any student absent for five consecutive school days without sanctioned leave will be removed from the school rolls.
  • Mandatory Attendance – Attendance is compulsory on the first and last day of each term and on all national and school functions including Independence Day, Republic Day, Sports Day, and School Day. Non-attendance without valid reason may lead to a fine or disciplinary action.
School Environment and Property
  • Cleanliness and Respect for Property – Writing on walls, littering, or damaging school property is strictly prohibited. Students are expected to respect and care for school facilities.
  • Use of English – English is the medium of instruction and students are encouraged to communicate in English within the school premises. Parental support in this initiative is appreciated.
  • Visits During School Hours – Parents and visitors are not permitted to meet students during school hours unless in cases of emergency and with prior approval.
  • Disciplinary Action – The school reserves the right to suspend or dismiss a student on grounds of irregular attendance, poor academic performance, disobedience, misconduct, or any behaviour inconsistent with the school’s values.
  • Responsibility for Belongings – Students are responsible for their personal belongings. The school does not accept responsibility for lost or misplaced items.
  • Student Leadership – Class leaders are appointed to assist teachers in maintaining discipline, ensuring classroom cleanliness, and managing materials such as books and charts.
Academic Responsibility
  • Participation in Activities – Participation in games and co-curricular activities is compulsory unless officially exempted by the Principal on medical grounds.
  • Compliance with Rules – Students may be sent home during school hours for violations such as:
    • Not wearing the school uniform
    • Failure to bring books
    • Not getting parental signatures on teacher remarks or absence records
    • Indiscipline or repeated late coming
  • Monitoring Academic Progress – Parents are requested to check the school handbook regularly for homework, teacher remarks, and academic notes. Communication with teachers may also be made through the handbook.
  • Parent-Teacher Communication
    • Parents seeking information about their child’s academic performance may meet the Principal on working days between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., with prior intimation.
    • Parents may meet teachers on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.
  • Private Tuition – The school does not encourage private tuition. If deemed necessary, arrangements must be made through the Principal’s approval.
  • Address Updates – A current record of parents’ or guardians’ addresses is maintained in the school office. Any change of address must be promptly communicated.
  • Collections and Contributions – No student shall collect money for any purpose without prior written approval from the school authorities.
  • Policy Updates – All school rules are subject to modification as per the discretion of the school management. Updated rules will be communicated accordingly.
